Guides

Measure once.
We'll handle the rest.

Two short guides: how to measure a wall so the mural fits, and how to hang numbered panels without a decorator. Both take about a minute to read.

Guide 01

Measuring your wall

1
Measure the widest and tallest points

Walls are rarely square. Measure width at the top, middle and bottom, height at both ends, and give us the largest figure in each direction. We add a 5 cm trim allowance on every edge so a lean in the wall never leaves a gap.

2
Measure the whole wall, not the space around obstacles

Radiators, sockets, door frames: measure straight through them. The mural is printed as one continuous image and cut on site — cutting around an obstacle mid-print would misalign the design.

3
Centimetres, wall by wall

Order one mural per wall. If you're covering a corner, tell us — we split the artwork so the pattern turns the corner correctly instead of repeating.

4
Not confident? Send us a photo

Photograph the wall with a tape measure held across it and email it over. We'll check your figures before printing — free, and it takes us five minutes.

Guide 02

Hanging numbered panels

Your mural arrives as numbered drops that hang left to right. Panel 1 goes at the left edge; each following panel butts against the last with a small overlap you trim through.

Paste-the-wall materials

Paste the wall, not the paper. Hang panel 1 to a plumb line, smooth from the centre outwards, then hang panel 2 overlapping panel 1 by the printed allowance and trim through both layers with a sharp blade against a straight edge.

Peel & stick

Peel the top 20 cm of backing, position to your plumb line, then work down peeling and smoothing as you go. It lifts and repositions for the first few attempts — take your time on panel 1, the rest follow it.

Tools: plumb line or spirit level, smoothing brush or squeegee, seam roller, sharp trim blade, straight edge, clean cloth. Our £14 hanging kit contains all of it except the level.
